Terry Murphy was in South Carolina in May 2014 working on Signs of Safety implementation with the South Carolina’s Department of Social Services. This involved implementation planning workshops with executive leadership and partner agencies and then a one day workshop for 300 staff and partners to ‘kick off’ the Statewide implementation.
South Carolina Department of Social Services have been working with Safe Generation (Connected Families) trainers and consultant Dan McCormick in two of their eight regions over the last two years and have made great progress improving practice and giving their leadership the confidence and impetus to move to Statewide implementation. Importantly too, they are committed to organisational transformation with Signs of Safety practice at the centre, progressively aligning leadership, policy and practice, together with a strong commitment to working with their partners.
